Great scott, what is that?

I'll tell you what this is, it's the UK pavilion for the 2010 World expo. Based in Shanghai, this extravagant piece of architecture is the British pavilion called the Seed Cathedral. This is expressing the British creativity and environmental engagement which explores the relationship between nature and city. This is being created by the work of Thomas Heatherwick. 

An unusual but extremely powerful pavilion to express our British creativity.  

Gino and The Garlic Myth

Advertising On Stairs

I know what your all thinking, its been done before, but I am really intrigued at what forms you can make out of the letters or objects that are displayed on the edges of any set of stairs. Could there be a new outdoor market for distorted adverts that come together as you move, 'Channel 4 ads'. Just in this example I love how the letters are distorted from there original form and become more shape like, depending on where you are where looking from. The connotations of completeness and becoming one as you physically move are really nice also. Thank you Scott Reinhard for creating this advert for the Museum of contemporary art, Chicago.

I am considering using this technique for my final project on the word 'OPTIMISM' 

Punk?

Julien Vallee

Julien is an incredibley talented individual creating concepts that play with reality and supernatural. His main skills lie in his precise hand making of paper models and creating motion graphics through these attributes. I have been a fan of his work since the start of Uni after seeing the first piece for MTV One 'featured below' in a D&AD book. He has done loads of amazing creative motion and still graphics since then. Check him out...

Dominos Pizza and the Saracens

Work Experience

I recently had the oppertunity to experience the world and life of an advertising photographer. After a recent meeting with Matt Cant (an experienced Advertising Photographer)  he took me to the Saracens Rugby Training ground in North London. He had a shoot photographing the previous winner of the cross bar challenge and a few Saracens having a go at this years obstical (Domino's sign above). This was a great oppertunity for me to get a real feel of how everything runs and how quick the place is in the proper photographer industry. I came out of this with a much greater understanding of what 'the real world' is like in the creative industry and  what it has to offer. I found this experience to be of a great interest to me and discoverd that I do want to go into the extreme sports side of the creative industry.

I want to give a big shout out for Matt Cant an extremely talanted Photographer who has been in the creative industry for over 20 years. Recently moving from London (after 19 years) to a town just outside Cardiff to get stuck in to the evolving design scene picking up here, where he has been working for UWIC, BBC and many other companies.

I am going down with Matt to Wembly to assist in capturing the event at half time, which is the new cross bar challenge sponsered by domino's (images above), which should be an exhilerating experience. I will really get into the roll of what beening a photographer is like under pressure.

New Bottle Design

Found some really inventive package design for coca-cola, which could be the evolutionary move. The compression mechanism of folding down is really useful and i am going to forward this innovation. Good work from the student Andrew Kim.
